Steph Curry says that the offense was simplified “probably last week.”
As you may already be aware, following the Christmas Game, I proposed that adding Jonathan Kuminga to the lineup would improve the chances of getting the ball to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
I then reasoned that Curry might need to grab the bull by the horns and simply give a shoulder tap to the man (Steve Kerr), who has been weaving the tapestry for Steph for all these years, after realizing that the franchise’s ecosystem had complete buy-in from top to bottom and that it might take some time to steer the cargo ship around in this Bay by hand:
Quite frankly, a lot of Warriors fans are just unaware of some fundamental information that is needed to implement my solution to the Jonathan Kuminga “lost faith” issue. [Aside: The transcripts from the previous few days are also attached. My main reason for doing all of that is to make sure it’s accurately recorded online and, ideally, searchable.

Curry related on the postgame podium that following the Philadelphia game, Steph and, most likely, Draymond Green had that conversation with Kerr, thanks to a line of questioning finally pursued by Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.
This team is unlike any that we have had in a very long time. Additionally, because this team is different from the others and because Draymond has been out for such a long time, there have been opportunities to kind of reevaluate our offensive momentum-building and shot-creation strategies. Additionally, teams have become a little more aggressive in their attempts to remove Klay and I from off-ball situations by crowding our space and forcing other players to handle or make plays. You must therefore embrace that and begin to organize yourself a little. Throughout the season, there are moments when we try to simplify the offense a little bit in an effort to
Though, ironically, tonight is the rematch of that game, and hopefully, Curry eliminates those “whatever turnovers” this time around, the brutal loss came at the perfect time and was necessary to evolve the Warriors into “get Kuminga downhill every once in a while to keep opponents honest.” The Memphis game exposed the weakness of 100% devotion to “get the ball to Steph or Klay” with their top-blocking.
Steph was supposed to set the ball-screen for the Warriors, which allowed JK to get more touches. It will be interesting to see if Vince Williams, Jr., the top blocker for the Grizzlies under head coach Taylor Jenkins, is starting to top block Curry again tonight. Below are the PHI-GSW game notes, transcripts, and videos.
0:00 You told us that you’re playing a little differently, for sure. There have been some modifications. What is your emotional state? Perhaps in the last week or so, there has been a slight change in the offense?
JONATHAN KUMINGA, POSTGAME PHI-GSW: “I think that a lot of people are involved in not just catching the ball but also locking in and ensuring that every call is handled correctly. I think that’s just helping us and that there should be more spacing and things like that.” assisting us in thriving in every offensive and other similar aspects.
0:55 You’ve talked about how Draymond has been by your side and in your ear a lot, and Steve talked about how much he’s getting you and Andrew Wiggins excited. What would you say it’s like when he gets you excited?
It’s always wonderful when the team captain instills such confidence in you guys. It’s not like we lost it, either. It’s always there, whether we have confidence in it or not, and it happens every other day. Wiggs and I were both relieved when he simply told us to keep going no matter what.
1:26 Today, there were nine more makes in the forbidden area. What percentage of that is the spacing you’re referring to? To what extent is it all just a deliberate attempt to reach the edge?
“More emphasis is being placed on consistently reaching the rim. and obviously just focusing on my touches every other day. You’re not sure what to do because you might arrive there. Considering that a defender will ultimately be present. I was merely honing my touches, and it’s critical to concentrate on consistently reaching the rim. Since, as we frequently mention, we have an abundance of shooters, having those kinds of shooters aids in the spacing
