Warrington Wolves’ injury news is mixed, with one player out and another on the mend.
This Saturday, the Wolves will face the Castleford Tigers.
Warrington Wolves will be without Joe Bullock for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. The injury occurred during a reserve game against the Leeds Rhinos, and scans have verified the seriousness of the injury.
The former Wigan forward has made 16 appearances for the Wire this season, but his season could be done depending on the club’s pursuit of a play-off spot in the final rounds.
Gary Chambers, the interim coach, admitted the setback, admitting the blow. “Around four weeks,” he estimated. “It’s like anything else; it’s how he reacts to treatment now.” That’s the best guess I can make.”
Meanwhile, winger Matty Russell is expected to return soon after missing over a month with a shoulder injury. “He’s had a bit of an AC problem,” acknowledged Chambers. “He’s almost ready to go with that; it’s just about to come right.” It’s one of those ailments that takes some time to heal.”
Chambers wants to rotate his forwards in the final rounds, which might be considered before of Saturday’s encounter against Super League strugglers Castleford Tigers. The return of Thomas Mikaele and the rehabilitation of James Harrison have given the pack additional versatility.
“It all depends on what we’ve got bumps and bruises wise with a couple of blokes,” Chambers went on to say. “We were good on rotations against Hull, and at the end, we had the flexibility to move Thomas out there and put Danny back in.” That is an alternative; I’ll only check on what we have and fully fit after the bumps and bruises are recognized.”
