The Minnesota Vikings have attempted to reduce their payroll as much as possible during the last two years.
Although they were still able to compete to some extent, it appears that this team will eventually completely turn its focus towards rebuilding.
Many people have speculated about Kirk Cousins’ future because it may not be the best move for this team to pay him a large salary, particularly at this stage of his career and after a serious injury.
In light of this, some speculate that they might also be prepared to part ways with standout wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who, should circumstances warrant it, could command a historic salary.
Because of this, Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah wanted to be very clear that their star wideout isn’t and never will be available.
Adofo-Mensah stated to ESPN’s Kevin Seifert that he has never even thought about trading Jefferson, so those rumours ought to end right away (source: Adam Schefter).
“You try to keep as many of those as you can when you have a blue-chip player or person,” he stated.
This is hardly shocking because Jefferson should only be considered for a move by the Vikings if he approves of one and is unhappy in the Twin Cities.
