Aston Villa have ‘the financial power’ to secure signing – Can reach ‘higher economic level’ than competition

Aston Villa have the ‘financial power’ to beat the various Spanish sides for Levante defender Marc Pubill in the race for his signature this summer.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo and Mundo Deportivo, who both cover the Villans interest in the defender today and the developing battle for him.
Estadio explain that thanks to the delicate financial situation at Levante, the need to sell is growing and Pubill is the man who can bring in the necessary funds.

There are ‘many teams’ that have called the Orriols’ offices to enquire about his situation and Aston Villa are the ‘last candidate’ to join the shortlist.
They’re yet to make a formal bid but Levante’s sports director Felipe Miñambres knows that the Villans ‘have the financial power’ to not only sign the player but also outbid the competition for him.

The starting price for him is €5m, although Levante want to keep a significant percentage of a future sale.

Mundo Deportivo, meanwhile, back up claims that Aston Villa are on the scene although they are yet to enter the bidding completely or as strongly as the likes of Sevilla or Real Betis.

The belief is that they could sooner rather than later, though, and if they do so it will be ‘with a higher economic level’ than that of the Spanish teams.

Levante are more than open to a sale given their need for money won’t sell for any old price and have already rejected a €4m bid.

Everything suggests that the footballer will be leaving this summer, though, and if it comes to a bidding war the belief is Aston Villa will win it easily.
