An old friend is reportedly returning to the Texas Rangers organization.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the Rangers are signing right-hander Chase Anderson to a minor-league deal. This wouldn’t be his first time joining the club in that capacity, as he previously signed with the Rangers in 2021. Anderson posted a 4.20 ERA in 15.0 innings pitched for Triple-A Round Rock.
Anderson, a Wichita Falls native, spent most of the 2024 seasons with the Boston Red Sox. He posted a 4.85 ERA, surrendering 46 hits while posting 35 strikeouts. The Red Sox released Anderson on August 2.
The 11-year veteran has endured a long journey through multiple MLB clubs, suiting up for Arizona, Milwaukee, Toronto, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Colorado and Tampa Bay in the past. Anderson owns a 4.37 career ERA.
