Following the appointment of Mike Budenholzer, the Phoenix Suns have decided not to retain any assistant coaches who previously served under the now-former head coach Frank Vogel.
The Phoenix Suns are poised for significant coaching staff changes following the hiring of Mike Budenholzer.
According to Chris B. Haynes from Bleacher Report, the Suns have notified all assistant coaches who were part of the staff under the former head coach Frank Vogel that they will not be kept on board with the organization.
After a disappointing season, the Suns parted ways with Vogel and brought in Budenholzer, who led the Milwaukee Bucks to the 2021 NBA Championship and has been honored as NBA Coach of the Year twice (in 2015 and 2019).
It seems there might be some confusion here. As of my last update in January 2022, the Phoenix Suns hadn’t been sold to Matt Ishbia, nor had they made trades for Kevin Durant or Bradley Beal. It’s possible that developments have occurred since then, but I don’t have information on these specific events.
It sounds like the Phoenix Suns had a challenging end to their regular season, finishing with 49 wins and 33 losses, securing the 6th seed in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, their postseason journey was cut short as they were swept 0-4 in the First Round by the Minnesota Timberwolves
