After the passing of a legendary clubman, administrator, and champion player to ever don a Bunnies jersey, the Rabbitohs are in mourning.
The rugby league community is in mourning after the passing of beloved former South Sydney captain and CEO Darrell Bampton.
The famous rugby league player, who helped the Rabbitohs become a premiership force, passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 74 after a long illness.
“We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Darrell Bampton, OAM, on behalf of all of us at Rabbitohs.” Following his passing, Souths set the standard with a statement.
Supporters quickly sent their condolences to the Bampton family and thanked the Souths legend for his contributions to the game.
Despite being a very gifted player, Bampton’s greatest reputation stemmed from his fierce clubmanship, giving his all for his beloved Souths and other teams he played for.
