The Knights have confirmed the departure of ten players.
Only four of the players were previously unknown.
Following the club’s end-of-season awards last night, the Newcastle Knights have announced the fates of eleven players.
Lachlan Fitzgibbon (Warrington Wolves), Lachlan Miller (Leeds Rhinos), Simi Sasagi (Canberra Raiders), and Dominic Young (Sydney Roosters) have already confirmed their departures from the club at the conclusion of 2023.
Adam Clune, the stand-in halfback, is rumored to be joining Super League side Huddersfield in 2024. Clune has started the last three games for the Knights, while regular halfback Jackson Hastings has been injured.
Kurt Mann is also leaving, and the utility has been linked with the Bulldogs for 2024. Mann is said to have passed his physical at the Bulldogs and might sign a two-year agreement with the club in the coming days.
The Knights have also stated that Hymel Hunt, Jack Johns, Bailey Hodgson, and Dan Aukafolau will leave at the end of the season.
Hunt has played 66 games with the Knights in four seasons, however he has only participated in four games this season.
Similarly, Johns has seen limited action for the Knights in 2023, with the versatile forward last appearing in Round 13.
Hodgson and Aukafolau are yet to make an NRL appearance.
The Knights have signed a number of players for the 2024 season, including Jed Cartwright and Jack Cogger, who will bolster the club’s depth. Kai Pearce-Paul and Will Pryce, two English players with bright futures, will join the Knights next season.
