ANNUAL RATING: BOSTON COLLEGE SIGNEE PAPE ABDOULAYE SY, 2024 OT
Pape Abdoulaye Sy, a recent recruit to Boston College, is one of the best prospects in this class from the NFL Academy in London, which is a source of elite talent for college football in the United States. Sy is a native of Dakar, Senegal, with arms that are actually 35 inches long and a wingspan that is almost 7 feet. That length rests atop a frame that approaches six feet six and weighs more than 290 pounds. Even though Sy is currently a new high three-star 89 on 247Sports, he still needs to work on his technique and awareness, especially given how young he is in the American football system, but the frame is extremely good, and for a tall, long tackle prospect with a naturally elevated center of gravity, he exhibits encouraging movement ability. He has physical attributes that point to practically infinite long-term developmental potential. He is a naturally gifted functional athlete. — Gabe Brooks, national scouting analyst for 247Sports
IOWA STATE SIGNEE’S NEW RATING: DOMINIC OVERBY, 2024 WR
Dominic Overby, a high-ceiling wideout out of West Jordan (Utah), is a great end-of-cycle acquisition for Iowa State. Although Overby’s measurements are unknown, he is undoubtedly tall and long-framed. He has made good use of his frame length in multisport athletics, as evidenced by his wind-assisted 100- and 200-meter sprint times of 10.73 and 21.71, respectively. In addition to placing fourth in the 400 meters for Class 6A, Utah’s athlete also long jumped 22 feet, 9 1/2 inches and threw the javelin—yes, this is a skill-based event! —
about 150 feet. In the upcoming years, Overby has a ton of developmental potential, as evidenced by his physical tools, multi-sport profile, verified athleticism, and enormous senior production increase. — Brooks
DAGAN MEYERS, 2024 S – COLORADO STATE SIGNEE – NEW RATING
Dagan Myers, a Littleton, Colorado, chatfield safety, signed with Colorado State and makes his 247Sports debut as a high three-star 87. The late great Greg Myers of CSU, who won the Jim Thorpe Award in the late 1990s and was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, is the father of Myers, who is inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Myers has an impressive athletic background, as you can imagine. This offseason, he reportedly ran in the high 4.4 range at college camps, completed multiple 20-plus scoring games on the basketball court, and put up sub-11.00 100-meter efforts. Myers is an small safety Standing at about 5 feet 10 inches and 185 pounds, this defensive back can also play special teams and is a dynamic return man who should make an immediate impact in Fort Collins. Myers fits the profile of Colorado State’s nickel lynchpin in five-DB sets. — Hudson Standish, national scouting analyst for 247Sports
TOBY MOORE, 2024 IOL – UNLV SIGNEE – NEW RATING
What a UNLV discovery. Toby Moore, a senior offensive line prospect from McDonald County in Anderson, Missouri, is a reliable P5 prospect who seems to have gotten lost in the process. Moore, who weighs in at 280 pounds and is taller than 6-foot-3, has demonstrated excellent combine performance with a sub-4.70 shuttle and a sub-7.90 three-cone drill. When Moore played full-time two-way snaps for McDonald County, he displayed that lateral twitch and suddenness on the field. Moore displayed punchy violence as a blocker and game-changing ability from multiple D-line patches. Moore is a season-best discus and shot put thrower who also plays basketball. This past spring, he recorded scores of 141-8 and 47-9 in the discus. He plays with consistently good body control and moves well in space, whether climbing to linebackers and safeties or pulling around the edge. Moore appears to be among the best Group of Five offensive line prospects in this class, which is why 247Sports gave him a high three-star rating of 87. — Brooks
