A representative for the Stillwater Police Department told CNN that the longhorn carcass was discovered in the front yard of the university’s FarmHouse fraternity at approximately 6:39 a.m. The department is looking into the case, according to spokesman Terry Low. According to Low, the perpetrator may at the very least be charged with animal cruelty, which is a felony.
A statement from FarmHouse Fraternity stated that the cow was branded with a phrase that made reference to the fraternity in “an inappropriate manner.”

After the Red Raiders’ opening play from scrimmage on Black Friday, Watts left the game with a back injury. Although Watts’ injury appeared serious at first, he was able to leave the field on his own.
Malik Muhammad, a true freshman cornerback, replaced Watts at boundary corner for the majority of the remaining plays against Texas Tech. During his practice at boundary corner last week, Muhammad excelled. He even made a stunning play in which he intercepted a Tech receiver for the first time in his career.
Watts may or may not be able to play against Oklahoma State this coming weekend, but either way, Muhammad and redshirt junior cornerback Gavin Holmes will likely rotate throughout the contest.
Senior safety Jalen Catalon is another significant injury for the Longhorns in the secondary. On November 18, while Texas was winning on the road in Ames against the Iowa State Cyclones, the Arkansas transfer reopened an upper-body injury.
Since sustaining the injury against Iowa State a few weeks ago, Catalon has not participated in any defensive plays for the Longhorns. Regarding Catalon’s injury status going into the Big 12 championship game, Sarkisian has not provided us with a definitive update.
In Catalon’s absence due to the injury, Texas has continued to rotate senior Jerrin Thompson, true freshman Derek Williams, redshirt sophomore Michael Taaffe, and senior Kitan Crawford at safety.
Jonathan Brooks, a redshirt sophomore running back, tore his ACL against the TCU Horned Frogs on November 11 and will miss the remainder of the season as a result. In Brooks’ absence over the past few weeks, true freshmen CJ Baxter Jr. and sophomore Jaydon Blue have received the majority of the carries at running back.
