“It could not be better for Joe,” Carl Veart, the coach of Adelaide United, says with a smile. “We’re overjoyed for him. It’s a credit to him that he’s worked so hard to get to this point and give himself the chance to attend such a large club.
“He’s been doing incredible work for the past three and a half years since returning to the club, and he’s demonstrated to all of our young players that the rewards are there if you’re willing to follow the right paths, put in the necessary effort, and concentrate on improving yourself.

The Socceroos’ two-time cap winner Gauci is anticipated to back up Emi Martinez, potentially making room for Robin Olsen to leave in the summer.
