AFTER KLOPP’S COMMENTS, JAN VERTONGHEN SENDS MESSAGE TO SPURS FANS

Jan Vertonghen has joined Tottenham Hotspur fans in fantasizing about re-enacting the 2019 Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp has now inspired Tottenham Hotspur fans to demand a rematch of the 2019 Champions League final.

Following Tottenham’s 2-1 home win over Liverpool, the previous few days have been pure mayhem.

Tottenham’s last-minute winner, courtesy of an own goal by Joel Matip, has been overshadowed by questionable incidents earlier in the game.

Curtis Jones was shown a straight red card in the first half, while Diogo Jota received his own after the break.

The key moment came in the first half, when Luis Diaz’s wonderful goal was erroneously called out owing to a communication breakdown with the VAR crew.

Jurgen Klopp comments on Liverpool VAR drama

Tottenham won the game, and Liverpool is outraged, requesting that the audio of the VAR communication be made public.

That tape exposed the truly appalling communication breakdown, but it included nothing more nefarious.

Liverpool is still not happy, and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has exacerbated the situation.

Klopp told Sky Sports that replaying the game is the most realistic option in his opinion.

Although the Premier League is unlikely to go that route, Klopp has made his complete thoughts public.

Tottenham would strongly oppose that notion, especially given that Liverpool were down to ten men at the time of the Diaz incident, and Spurs fans have been mocking the Reds manager.

Jan Vertonghen joins in with Tottenham jokes

Tottenham fans have suggested that if Klopp wants to rerun games because of poor refereeing decisions, the 2019 Champions League final should be one of them.

In that game, Liverpool won an early penalty after Moussa Sissoko was severely penalized for a handball.

Spurs fans aren’t going away, and after suggesting that the game be replayed, ex-Tottenham ace Jan Vertonghen has spoken in.

The Belgian played in that game in Madrid and suffered misery as Liverpool won 2-0.

Vertonghen just said, ‘Count me in,’ adding that if Klopp wants to open that can of worms, he would be happy to replay that game.
