Jean-Philippe Mateta transfer: Palace star's contract demands

Exclusive: Crystal Palace ‘Expecting to Sell’ £138m Duo This Summer

Crystal Palace board members are anticipating that Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi will head through the exit door during the fast-approaching summer transfer window after the Selhurst Park fan favourites have been the subject of increasing interest, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Although the Eagles enjoyed a memorable weekend thanks to overcoming Aston Villa to book their place in the FA Cup final, where they will face Manchester City, boss Oliver Glasner could see key men leave after also sanctioning the £50million departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich less than 12 months ago.

Romain Esse was Crystal Palace’s most expensive acquisition ahead of the winter deadline, due to completing a switch worth up to £14.5million from Championship play-off chasers Millwall, but they may be forced to rebuild their squad if admirers succeed in luring Eze and Guehi away from south London.

Eze and Guehi Have Interested Sides Circling

Influential figures anticipating that England internationals will leave

Crystal Palace are expecting to sell Eze and Guehi during the summer, according to GMS sources, after there have already been a number of suitors circling for their respective signatures as Premier League counterparts make plans to upgrade their squads when the transfer window reopens.

The England international duo, who are on contracts worth a combined total of £150,000-per-week, have been among the first names on the team sheet throughout the campaign and started the FA Cup semi-final victory over Aston Villa as Glasner’s side go in search of ending the campaign with silverware.

But GMS sources have been informed that influential figures at Crystal Palace have privately accepted that Eze and Guehi are increasingly likely to embark on a fresh challenge ahead of next term, meaning they may have already entered the final months of their respective careers at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles could be left helpless if one of Eze’s admirers decide to up the ante as they will have an opportunity to take advantage of a £68million release clause which is due to reactivate during the summer, potentially leading to him being able to enter discussions over personal terms.

Crystal Palace snubbed a £70million bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Guehi during the closing stages of the winter transfer window, but GMS sources have learned that the south Londoners have resigned themselves to having to cash in as he prepares to enter the final 12 months of his contract.

Eze and Guehi Cash Could Shape Eagles Plans

South Londoners’ budget would increase following departures

GMS sources have been told that Eze and Guehi moving onto pastures new could shape Crystal Palace’s plans for the summer as it would lead to the budget being increased and Glasner needing to replace two key men ahead of the 2025/26 campaign getting underway in August.

Former Queens Park Rangers talisman Eze, who has been described as a ‘superstar’ by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, is not short of admirers and there is an awareness behind the scenes that interested parties are seriously considering triggering his release clause if it becomes clear that he is open to a fresh start elsewhere.

Crystal Palace could also face a fight to hold onto Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta during the summer, GMS sources understand, with the latter firmly on Manchester United’s radar as they go in search of securing additional firepower ahead of Ruben Amorim’s first full season at the Old Trafford helm.
