Wrexham target Patrick Bamford drops big hint over future
It emerged earlier this week that Leeds United could sell Bamford on the cheap due to his contract situation and injury record.

This would be a boost for Wrexham, but recent comments from the striker suggest he may have other destinations in mind.

And while speaking to CBS Sports Golazo from the United States, Bamford discussed the idea of moving to the MLS and said his family ‘gave it the green light’ to move abroad.

He said: “I think it’s something that, obviously over time I’ve spoke to Michaela [his wife] about it, in terms of playing abroad, and America being one of the options. It was something that when I was younger I always wanted to do at some point in my career, to kind of experience it, experience a new country, living the lifestyle there and also trying myself in a new league.

“I think once you have a family and a wife it’s got to be run by them and to be fair they gave it the green light, and they said ‘look, we’re going to go with whatever’s for you and whatever challenge you want to want to take’, so it is something that I would be open to yeah, we just don’t know when yet.”

Would Patrick Bamford be a good Wrexham signing
Wrexham were told to make six to nine signings after securing promotion to the Championship.

With Sam Smith still the only quality goalscorer at the club, it’s not surprising to see so many number nines already being linked.

Bamford has plenty of experience in the Championship, making 217 appearances and scoring 69 goals in the competition.

But he has spent the last season struggling with injury and didn’t provide a goal contribution in his 17 appearances, which totalled 235 minutes of action.
