Josh Hart is available against the Rockets, and Jalen Brunson is back – New York Knicks Injury Tracker

Launching now is Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks’ starting lineup indicates that the star point guard, who missed the previous two games due to a calf bruise, will be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday. With Brunson out, New York went 1-1. On Wednesday night (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG), they take on the Houston Rockets at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks have also confirmed that Josh Hart will play against Houston in addition to Brunson. Hart’s knee contusion had also been noted as questionable on the injury report from Wednesday.

1/15/24 MAGIC VS. BRUNSON: DEUCE BACK IN THE FIRST FIVE

When the Knicks play the Orlando Magic on Monday (3 p.m. ET, MSG), Jalen Brunson (calf) will miss his second straight game, making way for Miles “Deuce” McBride once more, according to SNY’s Ian Begley. In lieu of Brunson, McBride made his first start of the season and had a career night, scoring 19 points in the victory in Memphis on Saturday.

Jalen Brunson is one of many high-profile players who will miss Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies (8 p.m. ET, MSG). Brunson’s calf injury has forced him to miss the game, and Miles McBride will start in his place. The injury report for Saturday listed Brunson as questionable. McBride, a third-year player, will start for the first time since December 22, 2022. He has become more of a second unit player since Immanuel Quickley was traded to Toronto.

As per the official game day injury report, Malachi Flynn (ankle) is now listed as questionable after missing the first two games of the new year and his entire metropolitan tenure. This seems to be a step closer to Flynn’s Friday night debut against the Philadelphia 76ers (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG/ESPN) New York Knicks debut.

[[UPDATE: May 6, 2016]] Flynn will be available to play in Friday’s game on a “situational” basis, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic.

The team’s injury report for Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Bulls (8:30 p.m. ET, MSG/ABC) lists the recently acquired ex-Toronto Raptor as out due to a sprained right ankle, further delaying his first game wearing a Knicks uniform. New York Knicks fans will have to wait patiently if they’re anticipating Malachi Flynn’s metropolitan debut. Flynn was sidelined by a medical condition for the first time this season and did not participate in Monday’s victory over Minnesota.

Precious Achiuwa and OG Anunoby are expected to make their New York Knicks debuts on Monday afternoon when they play the Minnesota Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden (3 p.m. ET, MSG/NBA TV), according to Ian Begley of SNY. Anunoby was supposed to participate in the morning, according to Begley, who also noted that neither was listed on the gameday injury report. Malachi Flynn, a fellow Canadian acquisition who has only played 11 minutes in his last two games with Toronto, was also listed as out. Begley also mentioned that Quentin Grimes, who missed Saturday’s game in Indiana due to illness, will be added back into the New York rotation. Grimes reportedly desired to participate in Saturday’s game, particularly since the Knicks would be shorthanded following

Quentin Grimes (non-COVID illness) will not play in the Knicks’ game against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night (7 p.m. ET, MSG), the team announced. Grimes’ absence coincides with the Knicks’ (17-14) anticipated roster shortage following the trade of Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett to the Toronto Raptors on Saturday. The Knicks may decide to give Miles McBride or even Evan Fournier more minutes in lieu of Grimes.

Even though the New York Knicks won a big game on the court, it looks like they’re about to lose a big one in terms of transactions: according to Shams Charania, the team has “applied for a Disabled Player Exception worth $7.8 million as the franchise projects center Mitchell Robinson will miss the rest of the season.” Robinson had surgery for an ankle injury, and the initial estimate was that he would miss two to three weeks. The player in question must be expected to miss the remainder of the season in order for the exception to apply.
