CBS NFL announcer: For Sean Payton and Broncos, ‘the best is yet to come’

LAS VEGAS: There were highs and lows during Sean Payton’s first season as head coach of the Broncos. Additionally, despite calling just five of the team’s 17 games played in the previous season, Kevin Harlan of CBS had a reputation for calling key games, such as the Broncos’ first victory over Kansas City in eight years, the 70-point disaster in Miami, and the collapse in Detroit. He also called three of the team’s five-game winning streak’s games on the radio.
And Harlan, who has been calling NFL games since the mid-1980s, noticed one thing as a result of the inconsistent results:

Sean Payton and the Bronocs have better times ahead of them.

Thus, Harlan stated last week in Las Vegas on Super Bowl Radio Row, “I do believe the best is yet to come.” He is, in my opinion, the ideal coach. The organization is being led by the right people. George Paton seems like a very good general manager. I like a lot of things,” Harlan remarked. “Their core is strong.”

“He’s taking over a team that had a lot of the right pieces last year and assembling them now.” Additionally, there were a few years during which they were apart. Additionally

After seven straight losing seasons, Broncos Country isn’t exactly in the mood to give time. That is, however, most likely required in this instance.

However, it will require an additional offseason to enlist more guys who share the same interests: “Figure out the quarterback thing, which they will, they’ll get it right,” Harlan declared, and proceed. And they are going to.

Concerning Russell Wilson and Sean Patterson, well,
Harlan had a sneaking suspicion that life would not be completely easy for Sean Payton and the twelve-year-old veteran quarterback he inherited.

Harlan remarked, “I don’t fault either party. You knew from the beginning was gonna be an interesting dance with the quarterback and him.” Sean has distinct expectations for his quarterback.

It was never going to work out, and as the season progressed, I believe that they all realized this and were sincere with one another.

However, as Harlan witnessed, the Broncos managed to turn a 1-5 start into a winning record by the end of December, lasting only five weeks, before losing three of their next four games and falling out of the postseason picture.

Furthermore, Harlan witnessed not only Sean Payton adapt his plan to suit Wilson, but also Wilson adapt to Payton.

“You noticed that they were starting to prevail and wondered, ‘Well, who’s giving in a little?'” Each bent, I believe,” Harlan remarked. “I believe that both of them overreached themselves to make it work, and as a result, things kind of went south and the season concluded as it did.”
