fter two decades of playing professional football, a member of the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII team is scheduled to retire. Two players have retired for the Seahawks in the past week, including running back Bryant Koback.

Former Seahawks punter and fan favorite Jon Ryan is expected to sign a contract with the team and retire, according to a report by Bob Condotta with Seattle Times Sports.

Ryan participated in CFL and NFL games.
Ryan was a player for several NFL and CFL teams. In the third round of the 2004 CFL Draft, Ryan was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 2006, he signed on with the Packers. Then, in 2008, he became a member of the Seahawks and remained there until the end of the 2017 campaign.

In 2018, Ryan had a brief stint as a player for the Buffalo Bills before signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In the 2022 season, he made his Edmonton Elks debut.

In the NFL, Ryan’s punting yard average was 44.7. 311 times, he punted inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

Ryan started to co-own Cleburne Railroader and Portland Pickles.
