ARSENAL NOW WANT TO SIGN £33M ASTON VILLA WINGER

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been linked with Aston Villa winger Emiliano Buendia.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are interested in signing Emiliano Buendia from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Arsenal are looking at Buendia as a potential back-up to England international winger Bukayo Saka.

This is not the first time that the Gunners have been linked with Buendia.

Sky Sports reported in June 2021 that Arsenal wanted to sign the Argentine winger when he was at Norwich City.

The report claimed that the Gunners had an offer of £30 million for the 26-year-old winger turned down.

Buendia eventually moved to Villa from Norwich in the summer of 2021.

Football Transfers have reported that the Villans paid the Canaries an initial transfer fee of £33 million to secure the services of the Argentina international winger.

The report has claimed that Arsenal still admire Buendia and could reignite their interest in him.

Arsenal do not need to sign Emiliano Buendia from Aston Villa

In our opinion, Arsenal do not need to sign Emiliano Buendia from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

We do not think that the Gunners need another winger.

Arsenal have enough attacking players on their books.

Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Martinez, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson and Marquinhos are the main attacking options for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta at the moment.

Gabriel Jesus, Folarin Balogun and Eddie Nketiah are the three strikers for the Gunners.

Where would another attacking player fit in at Arsenal?

Regarding a back-up to Saka at right wing, the Gunners do have Nelson and Marquinhos.

There is also Pepe, but it is likely that he will leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Buendia has made 109 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The 26-year-old Argentina international winger has scored 10 goals and given 15 assists in those games.

Aston Villa hold ‘simple contacts’ over transfer – Potential reunion with Monchi on the cards

Aston Villa have held ‘simple contacts’ over a possible move for Sevilla defender Gonzalo Montiel this summer.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say Monchi could be eyeing up a reunion with the Argentine defender at Villa Park.

They cover reports from Argentina that Montiel is unhappy with life at Sevilla at this moment in time, which could lead to a potential departure this summer.

The belief is that he would return to his homeland but the that is a ‘very difficult’ thing to bring into reality as even the big clubs like River Plate would struggle to get a deal over the line.

Reports in Argentina have also linked Aston Villa with a potential move, suggesting that Monchi, the man who signed him in 2021, could do him a favour.

Estadio add their own slant to that and state that Villa are indeed in the mix, as well as a club in Russia, but there has been no more than ‘simple contacts’ with either club over a transfer.

Montiel, for his part, is continuing his work in pre-season with Sevilla but faces an increasing fight for a place as youngster Juanlu has been given his chance to impress this summer.

Indeed, he recently featured against Real Betis and whether that is a declaration of intent from manager José Luis Mendilibar remains to be seen.

If it turns out that it is, the suggestion is that he could be on the move and Aston Villa would be in the mix for him thanks to Monchi.

Aston Villa: £42m duo now ‘allowed to move on’ at Villa Park

Aston Villa could look to push through the sales of a £42m duo at Villa Park this summer.

Aston Villa are unlikely to retain Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne at Villa Park beyond the summer window, though transfer insider Dean Jones indicates “offers need to land” as he provides the latest update to GIVEMESPORT.

Unai Emery’s Villans have already made a splash in the transfer market but could now look to secure outgoings to balance the books.

Aston Villa transfer news – Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne

After spending over £75m on making three signings at Villa Park, Emery will identify several players who could be sold for cash, as the one-time European champions aim to balance their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Youri Tielemans, Pau Torres and Moussa Diaby have already arrived in the West Midlands, with Emery building a squad capable of challenging in the Premier League and Europa Conference League this term.

Meanwhile, out of players involved in last season’s squad, only Ashley Young has been released, joining Everton as a free agent this summer.

Marvelous Nakamba and Wesley Moraes have left Villa Park after loan spells away from the club.

But a focus must be on shifting higher earners who would command substantial transfer fees in the remaining month of the window.

Attempts to move Coutinho out of Villa Park have been made, with Besiktas being the latest side to fail in their pursuit of the 31-year-old.

Meanwhile, a report from 90min last month claimed that former Villa and current Al Ettifaq manager Steven Gerrard was interested in striking a deal for Coutinho, hoping for a reunion with the £17m midfielder.

And the MailOnline report that Villa are open to offers for Digne, just 18 months after his £25m arrival from Everton.

The left-back has lost his regular spot in Emery’s side to Alex Moreno, who signed for the Villans from Real Betis in January.

Jones understands that Coutinho and Digne would be allowed to move on this summer but need to generate offers for their services in the remaining month of the transfer window.

What has Jones said about Coutinho and Digne’s futures at Aston Villa?

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t have great expectations for Digne or Coutinho to remain at Villa beyond this transfer window, but like other players in this squad, you need offers to land before we genuinely know how Villa view the situations.

“I understand that both would be allowed to move on at this stage, but of course, all parties need to find a satisfactory resolution to their problem.”

Who else could Aston Villa sell this summer?

Coutinho and Digne are just two names linked with an Aston Villa exit this summer as Emery looks to trim his squad in the coming weeks.

Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has recently told GIVEMESPORT that Villa could consider suitable offers for winger Leon Bailey, who finds himself competing for a spot in the starting XI following Diaby’s arrival.

The same journalist also tells GMS that Belgium midfielder Leander Dendoncker could leave Villa Park, having arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.

In positive news, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has suggested to GIVEMESPORT that midfielder Douglas Luiz is unlikely to leave the West Midlands outfit, despite angling for a move to Arsenal 12 months ago.
