Leeds United transfer rumours as manager confirms Whites-linked midfielder will move on

Catch up on this morning’s latest Leeds United transfer rumours from across the internet

Glen Kamara of Rangers has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Here are this morning’s latest Leeds United transfer rumours from across the internet on Sunday, August 13.

Leeds United-linked Glen Kamara will leave Rangers

Glen Kamara has been linked with a move to Leeds United this summer and it would appear that the Finnish midfielder is nearing the Ibrox exit door.

With Kamara having been training away from the main group in recent weeks, Gers boss Michael Beale has confirmed that the midfielder will leave the club during the summer.

“It’s clear Glen Kamara is the player who’s definitely going to move on in this window,” he said, as per the Daily Record.

Midfield is one of several positions Leeds are looking to address in the final three weeks of the transfer window, having seen the likes of Marc Roca, Adam Forshaw and Brenden Aaronson departing already this summer, while Tyler Adams faces an uncertain future following the collapse of his proposed move to Chelsea.

Serie A side Salernitana remain interested in Leeds United defender Leo Hjelde, according to Italian outlet Cronache Salerno.

Links first emerged in the Italian media last month, but since then Hjelde was handed a place in Leeds’ first two starting line-ups of the season amid an injury to Junior Firpo, who the Whites confirmed earlier this week will be sidelined for another four weeks.

The report notes Firpo’s injury but claims that Salernitana sporting director Morgan De Sanctis remains interested and that ‘developments are expected.’

NEWS NOW: Leeds given green signal to seal brand new transfer, bid must be likely soon

Leeds United transfer news as green signal given to sign Rangers ace Glen Kamara

Leeds United appear to be given the green signal by Rangers manager Michael Beale in order to go out and secure the services of Glen Kamara.

The Finland international, 27, has been linked with a move to Elland Road for over a month and has not been training with the first team.

Rather than being coy about his future, Beale has gone on record to state that he’ll definitely be leaving the club this summer.

He said per Daily Record on Saturday (12 August, Page 61), “It’s clear Glen Kamara is the player who’s definitely going to move on in this window.”

Last Word on Sports reported on 17 July that personal terms had also been agreed between Leeds and the central midfielder.

It seems that all that needs to be done now is for the Whites to make an official bid and if it’s rejected, to negotiate an acceptable fee with Rangers.

They’re short on midfielders after Marc Roca, Weston McKennie and Adam Forshaw have left for good while Tyler Adams still is linked with an exit after his transfer to Chelsea fell through.

Kamara is a talented player who’s fallen off recently so there’s a very good chance that other clubs come in for him.

Beale has given a green signal to any club keen to go out and make a bid for him and it remains to be seen if Leeds act the quickest.

Joe Rodon arrives: Leeds United are getting these key traits from shrewd transfer agreement – View

Leeds United have completed the loan signing of Tottenham and Wales centre-back Joe Rodon this week, bolstering Daniel Farke’s defence.

Liam Cooper’s injury setback only served as the latest reminder to the 49ers Enterprises that Daniel Farke won’t be able to go through this season without further recruitments all over the pitch.

The club moved quickly after confirmation of the skipper’s setback, bringing in Tottenham’s 25-year-old centre-back Joe Rodon on a season-long loan deal.

The Wales international comes to Elland Road to reunite with familiar faces in Ethan Ampadu and Dan James, and brings quality to the back four that Leeds have been desperate for.

Here, we look at two traits that the centre-back will bring to Farke’s side this season…

If the Cardiff clash was anything to go by, Farke’s Leeds are going to dominate possession in most games they play this season.

To convert that possession into goals, it starts from centre-backs moving the ball well across the pitch to exploit gaps over and over again.

Rodon on the right-hand side of the defence is a great addition, because he’s been doing it throughout his career in a possession-heavy Swansea City side, before moving to Spurs.

It’s evidenced by his passing accuracy over the last year, with his “medium” range passing at 93.7% accurate, while his long range passing is an impressively high 74.7% – per FBref.

Leeds need more imposing figures in their lineup, given how soft the defence was during the three seasons in the Premier League.

Rodon comes in at around 6ft4in, already the tallest outfielder in the Leeds lineup, with his strong figure something Leeds can absolutely benefit from.

He’s never been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career from set plays, but he notched one for Rennes on loan last season, and when coupled with Pascal Struijk’s presence from attacking corners, we’re in a much stronger position now.

What is encouraging for this is that Rodon’s height doesn’t come with a lack of mobility, able to recover well at pace when facing his own goal, exactly what we need.
