Cumming keeps a clean sheet for MK Dons, and Bergstrom returns from loan.

Jamie Cumming’s goalkeeping heroics for MK Dons earned him manager acclaim as well as our Loan Performance of the Week, while Lucas Bergstrom’s loan at Peterborough United has come to an end.

MK Dons had to struggle for a 0-0 draw at home against Lincoln City as they continue to regain form in League One under new manager Mark Jackson, putting them just two points from safety, but they had on-loan goalkeeper Jamie Cumming to thank for a number of superb stops.

The first came at the end of the first half, when he saved a Jack Diamond drive from the edge of the box and then reacted brilliantly to heroically stop the rebound as Lincoln tried to score a tap-in.

However, he was at full stretch after the break to turn away another goal-bound shot from Diamond to clinch the point and keep the Dons’ unblemished home record under their new boss, who was full of praise for the player’s performance.

‘When Jamie was called upon, he made a good save; he’s a fantastic goalkeeper, which is why he’s at Chelsea,’ Jackson explained.

‘We’re thrilled to have a keeper of his caliber because you know he can produce and keep the ball out of the back of the net when called upon.’

Meanwhile, another League One goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom has terminated his loan spell with Peterborough United and returned to Chelsea after preserving nine clean sheets in 28 outings for the Posh in all competitions.

Elsewhere, Levi Colwill kept a clean sheet as Brighton stunned Liverpool 3-0 in the Premier League, and Ethan Ampadu made it five Serie A games without defeat for a resurgent Spezia as they won 1-0 away at Torino.
