West Ham striker Divin Mubuma has outlined his intentions to keep improving on his impressive form ahead of the new season.

Having lost a pivotal figure from our Academy roots this summer in Declan Rice, many fans are eager to see the next generation make the step up, with Mubuma a spearhead of that crop having featured heavily in our pre-season schedule so far.

Our Hammers forward has been in fine form too, getting on the scoresheeet again in the 3-2 victory over fierce rivals Spurs in Perth this week, and is expected to feature again when we take on Dagenham & Redbridge this Saturday.

“It’s always good to win a derby and to get on the scoresheet is just a bonus,” said the 18 year old to the clubs Official Website. “Every time I get a chance to play and show the Gaffer what I can do I just want to work hard.”

Mubuma is still very much learning his trade, and gave special mention to Danny Ings who is aiding his development, with the experienced former Liverpool striker linking up well with Mubuma when they’ve been on the pitch together.

“Danny helped me on the pitch tonight with his experience and I get to see it every day in training,” added Mubuma. “I’m the first to ask him about tips for finishing and things that can help my game.

“First and foremost off the pitch you learn how to take care of yourself, I think when you’re around professionals everyday you learn so much, not just on the pitch but off it especially with things like what they eat and stuff like that.

“For us youngsters it’s about trying to take little things along the way and add them to our own game.”
