Fullkrug hailed a hero by Hammers fans
The angry rant on has gone viral with fans, not just of West Ham but clubs across English football, praising his refreshing honesty.
Graham Potter’s pathetic Hammers side were fortunate not to lose heavily to already relegated Southampton – who are officially the joint-worst team in Premier League history.
The Saints managed 15 shots at goal, hit the bar twice and missed a number of gilt-edged chances.
Despite West Ham taking a 1-0 lead through Jarrod Bowen, Southampton managed to equalise at the death with Potter admitting it was the least the visitors deserved.
Boos rang out around the London Stadium at full-time with Potter having now won only three of his 14 games since replacing Julen Lopetegui in January.
Fullkrug slammed the mentality of his teammates and also suggested there is a divide in the dressing room.
“It’s a mindset problem,” Fullkrug said on Sky Sports.
“Very angry today. Not disappointed, just angry about what we did after the goal.
“It was difficult to bring the boys back to push up. We didn’t push up anymore. We tried but we didn’t have the ability or motivation to push up again. I’m very, very angry that we played like this…

“The motivation to want it more, sorry it was s— and I’m very angry. It’s not the first time that we scored a goal, and the next goal-kick we just shoot the ball long, we don’t try to play football anymore, we don’t push up anymore. We just sink.
“That’s not the way we want to play. Why can we play 65 minutes before with possession, but then score and after that half of the team try to score again, and the other half of the team just try to defend very deep?
“That’s not the way it works. We have to find a way to have togetherness, to have the idea of where we want to go and what we want to do.
“The coach is very clear about what he wants, but we have to do it all. Everyone has to do it.”

Hammers striker doubles down amid some criticism
While most West Ham fans have praised the striker for being the only person at the club to tell it how it really is, Fullkrug has come in for criticism too.
Journalists and pundits have questioned the wisdom of his outburst, which prompted a typically neutral response from Potter when it was put to him post match.
Now Fullkrug has spoken out on social media after his angry rant and he has West Ham’s owners running scared.
If anyone thinks the Germany international is going to apologise or back down then think again.
Fullkrug took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday afternoon to reiterate to fans they deserve better from the team.
He also thanked supporters for backing his outburst.

“Disappointed with the result from yesterday,” Fullkrug said.
“You guys in the stands deserved the win.
“Thank you for the supporter Hammers!”
There had been suggestions Fullkrug might be disciplined by the club’s owners.
But the 32-year-old forward has a board who are clearly terrified of a fan revolt eating out of his hand.
According to Telegraph journalist Jason Burt, the feeling within the club is that Fullkrug is right and only saying it as it is and that West Ham need to assess what has been going wrong rather than punish him.
