Swansea City and Stoke City have agreed a £2 million deal for Josh Tymon.

The Swans are preparing to make another deadline-day signing.

Swansea City are expected to sign left-back Josh Tymon from Stoke City.

WalesOnline understands that the Swans have agreed a fee of roughly £2 million for the 24-year-old, who has previously been linked with Championship rivals Leeds United.

He is now set to go to south Wales for a medical and will become the Swans’ second left-back signing this summer, following the recruitment of Dutchman Nathan Tjoe-A-On.

The acquisition boosts Michael Duff’s left-sided options as he seeks his first league win as Swansea manager, especially after the departure of Ryan Manning earlier this summer.

Tymon is a well-known player to the Northern Irishman, who publicly expressed his interest after the 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Bournemouth earlier this week.

“He’s a left-back, and we need one.” People may put two and two together pretty frequently. “I think he’s a good player,” Duff added.

“I’ve seen quite a bit of him. I remember watching him when he was a young guy passing by.”

Tymon has yet to make an appearance for Stoke City in the Championship this season, with summer signing Enda Stevens ahead of him in the pecking order at the bet365 Stadium.

He does, however, have 122 Potters appearances to his name, having joined on a free transfer from Hull City in 2017.

On a crowded deadline day for the Swans, Tymon might be joined by Kristian Pedersen, Bashir Humphreys, and Jamal Lowe.
