Moran receives a ‘Heaven’ message from a Blackburn Rovers graduate.

Keith Treacy, a former Blackburn Rovers academy graduate, believes Andrew Moran’s move to Ewood Park is a “match made in heaven.”

The midfielder has signed a season-long loan with Rovers from Brighton & Hove Albion in order to get first-team experience. Moran is regarded highly by both the Seagulls and the Republic of Ireland setup.

On Friday night, the 21-year-old captained the Under-21s and scored in a dramatic 3-2 triumph over Turkey. Moran had a hectic month, with Jon Dahl Tomasson handing him starts in the Championship and Carabao Cup just one week after joining on loan.

Treacy, who was a member of the Rovers academy from 2005 to 2010, has talked highly of his experience at Brockhall and believes Ewood Park is the ideal learning environment for Moran.

“Blackburn’s underage system is fantastic.” When I went to Blackburn about 15 years ago, it was probably one of the best,” he told the RTÉ Soccer Podcast.

“The facilities are excellent, and any player who goes there will be well taken care of.” They are clearly all technically gifted. (Moran) will receive the best coaching, management, diet, and physiotherapy.

“It has the best of everything.” And one thing that works in Andrew Moran’s favor is that some of the individuals who work in the background at Blackburn, such as secretaries and kitchen workers, are genuinely nice people who care about their families. They’ll take care of you.

“I was 15 years old when I moved over there, and I was moving over by myself, and there were a lot of people around me.”

“It was extremely beneficial to me.” When I hear Andrew Moran is at Blackburn, I thought, “Lovely, that’s a match made in heaven.”

“I’m sure there will be people in and around Blackburn who will dig him out of it if he does have any ebbs or lows.”
