Leeds United still has some intriguing names available to sign, including former Premier League and Championship players.
Daniel Farke had a successful first transfer window in command at Elland Road, bringing in a slew of new players to bolster his Leeds United squad.
Ethan Ampadu joined from Chelsea as the German’s first signing of the summer, and he was swiftly followed by Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow. Farke’s midfield was bolstered further with the acquisitions of Rangers star Glen Kamara and Werder Bremen’s Ilia Gruev, before Swansea City’s prolific striker Joel Piroe was convinced to turn off Premier League bids to join Leeds.
Farke completed a busy summer with the free transfer signing of Sam Byram and a double swoop in the loan market, landing Jaidon Anthony and Joe Rodon from Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.
The transfer window will not reopen until January, but Farke may look into the free agent market if he believes more players are needed. The Evening Post looks at 20 players who have left their prior clubs earlier this summer.

Leeds United could be without Willy Gnonto for up to ‘eight weeks’ after the forward underwent ankle surgery, according to Football Insider. He suffered the injury in the Whites’ 0-0 draw at Hull City earlier this month and is now out.
Gnonto, an Italy international with 13 caps to his name, was extensively linked with a move away from Elland Road over the summer but opted to stay when the transfer deadline passed. Last season, as his club was demoted to the Championship, the 19-year-old scored four goals in all competitions.
Target has a new deal.
Celtic have signed Leeds target Matt O’Riley to a new contract. Farke has been trying to entice the former Denmark youth international to come to England.
He has, however, pledged his future to the Scottish Premiership champions until 2027. “I can’t express how much I enjoy playing football here, honestly,” he said on their website. It’s great to be a part of a football family.
“I believe that’s quite rare, given everything we do on and off the field, in terms of community service and charities, and so on… I believe it is one-of-a-kind, and I am honored to be a part of it.
“I think it’s important to go into training every day really enjoying the company of your teammates, being able to laugh and push each other.” If you have a solid relationship off the field, it is naturally simpler to demand high standards from each other, and I believe we have a nice combination of youth and experience right now.”
