Stoke City loanee wants to leave parent club permanently after lobbying for Potters move

According to Football Insider, Stoke City loanee Sead Haksabanovic wants to leave Celtic on a permanent basis in January or next summer.
Haksabanovic joined Stoke City in the closing weeks of the summer transfer season. He joined on a season-long loan from Scottish heavyweights Celtic and has scored once and assisted once in four Championship games since.

The 24-year-old has started the last three league games, scoring in the weekend’s 3-2 comeback triumph over Bristol City.

Football Insider has obtained new information about Haksabanovic’s future beyond his Potters loan, claiming that he is interested in a permanent move away from his parent club. After attempting to finalize his summer move to Stoke, the Swedish-born winger is adamant about not returning to Celtic.

Haksabanovic intends to quit the Scottish club permanently in January or next summer. He makes no mention of a probable destination and is intent on departing Celtic before his contract expires in 2027.

Are you on the move for good?

After his summer loan, it appears like Haksabanovic’s future is outside of Celtic Park. These latest claims only serve to reinforce that idea, so it will be intriguing to see what the next year or so holds for the 33-cap Montenegrin international.

He’s had a good start to life with Stoke, putting in some solid performances in recent weeks. The goal against Bristol City should only cement his starting status under Alex Neil, so the hope is that he can truly find his feet and kick on.

It might be a significant victory for Neil and Stoke City. Their slow start to the season has disappointed fans, but if they can get a run going, there’s still time for them to live up to their lofty expectations for the season.
