Christian Koloko is reportedly ‘out indefinitely,’ and will miss Raptors training camp.

The Toronto Raptors announced on Monday that center Christian Koloko will be “out indefinitely” due to respiratory difficulties.

Representatives for Toronto’s basketball team indicated in a press release that Koloko would not attend the team’s 2023 training camp in Vancouver.

“Koloko continues to deal with ongoing respiratory issues,” according to the statement. “His condition will be updated as appropriate.”

Koloko broke his nose in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 16, returning to the floor a few days later with a partial face mask to preserve his injuries.

It is unknown when he will return for the upcoming season.

9:48 a.m.: According to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link), the Raptors have signed free agency shooting guard Darryl Morsell to an Exhibit 10 deal.

Morsell played in the G League for the Salt Lake City Stars and Raptors 905 past season after being undrafted out of Marquette in 2022. He averaged 7.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 18.2 minutes a game for the two teams, with a.393/.220/.750 shooting line.

While Morsell’s scoring numbers have never stood out, he’s a terrific perimeter defender who earned Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021 while playing for Maryland.

Morsell may be in training camp with Toronto, but he is likely to return to the Raptors 905 once the regular season begins, according to Murphy. If he is cut and subsequently spends at least 60 days with the Raptors’ NBAGL affiliate, he will be eligible for an Exhibit 10 bonus worth up to $75,000.

On Thursday, the Raptors waived Kevin Obanor to make room on the roster for Morsell.
